In the new episode of ChiefsClash, we have 3 beautiful industry leaders from the Affiliate sector. Our guests are Brendon Spiteri, the Head of Partnerships at AffiliationSpace, Clemence Dujardin, Group CEO of MyAffiliates and Head of Commercials at Affpapa, Yeva Avagyan.
1.Thoughts about Operator - Affiliates relationship?
Clemence: I would say there is still the fear of operators and affiliates of each other. Operators are still very suspicious of affiliates and affiliates as well. So there is this hate relationship, but then there is a love relationship, since they can't live without each other. The ecosystem is what it is, so they need to give some love to each other. And I think we are making a lot of progress towards love rather than hate. Operators are making a lot of efforts to give that transparencies, not without the input of affiliates who have been really pushy which is fair. So, it's nice to see the improvement, but there is still a lot of work to do about it.
Yeva: Our company works to verify both operators and affiliates for each other. We are verifying affiliates and their accounts, if the emails are valid, if the track traffic is quality. We try to help as much as possible to connect the both parties, whether someone ghosted someone, and they never came to a resolution, or something was paid, and they're just hanging in the air. So we have a complaint section where, for example, if an operator kind of dodges the affiliate after the pay, we open up a complaint, and we try to chase them and come up to a resolution. But when it comes to both sides, we're always investigating. We're trying to, you know, see which, which party kind of missed the point, and where actually it happened. So we're always there to support.
Brendon: It's how Clemens actually said they need each other. It's always been the traffic, quality and timely payment issues. An operator is interested in having multiple deposits from the clients. I mean, yes, it is good to have clients that are multiple depositing, but affiliates don't have control of getting another client to redeposit, so the first action is getting them through the door. And then there's the retention team from the operator side that comes into play that needs to keep this client engaged. What is needed is being transparent on payment terms, because this will affect the affiliate work: not getting paid in time, will affect the campaign budgets. So that is why the network comes in play, because we pay the affiliate and then we wait for the operator to pay us.
I love affiliation, but I secretly would like to...
Yeva: I love affiliation, but I secretly would like to be Chief Vibe Officer & Emotional Risk Manager.
Clemence: I love affiliation, but I secretly would like to title my memoir: You Only Call When the Tracking Breaks.
Brendon: I love affiliation, but I secretly would like to be VP of buzzword implementation.
