ChiefsClash | Vacation, JUN 2025

Updated: 52 minutes ago

This ChiefsClash episode has a very fun theme, it is dedicated to Vacation. We gathered three amazing panelists to ask them how they manage balancing work and vacation. Our guests are Amnom Liebermann, the Head of Distribution Channels at Elantil, Victoria Glukhovetska, the CEO and Creative Director of Vialex Motion Lab and the Founder and CEO of Elevated Edge Consulting - Martina Åkerlund.

  1. Amnon, how do you switch from work to vacation?

Amnon: Me and vacation mode often run into parallel works. I live predominantly in Malta, between Malta and London, so I am trying to take few weekends every now and then. But even if I swear to myself that I'm not gonna work my OCD really prevails. I'll always check the slack messages, and then it creeps back. So its pretty hard to separate work and vacation for me. My colleagues are trying to manage work balance for me on my behalf, because, like, if you leave it to me, it would be balanced predominantly towards work. It's a daily struggle.

2. Martina, as a Swedish person, do you think Swedes treat vacation different than other nationalities?

Martina: I think I've heard many times that the Swedes or the Nordics completely shut down and check out for like a month. That mainly happens in July, that's generally like the Swedish vacation. So if you're working in large companies, according to law you're entitled to 3 weeks vacation in a row during June, July or August. But for example, I've been CEO and its different for me and also I was CMO of a bank and responsible for internal external communication. You can't just check out because things happen. I wouldn't be in those positions if i don't pick up that call or respond to that email or take that meeting. I rather take those important things, because then I can keep my happiness levels and stress levels in a good level. That's my balance.

3. My leave-me-alone drink when I'm on vacation is....

  • Shahar: My leave-me-alone drink when I'm on vacation is Campari Tonic, and the reason is that I don't trust a random bartender to make any other complex drink.

  • Amnon: My leave-me-alone drink when I'm on vacation is tequila with tonic and lime. This is my definition of ultimate happiness.

  • Martina: My leave-me-alone drink when I'm on vacation is champagne. That's my choice for every occasion in life.

  • Victoria: My leave-me-alone drink when I'm on vacation is Prosecco, followed by a session of swimming and finishing with Gin Tonic.
